The mud run!!!

This is my recount of the mud run at camp.

Surviving the mud run

I was racing towards a huge, big, long mud run.
As I was about to jump into the mud I stopped.
I felt nervous and scared. I didn’t know whats going
to happen. Am I going to drown in the mud? Okay I
stopped thinking about the negative stuff and started
thinking about the positive stuff. I jumped into the
sticky mud and carried on. I got to the yucky part
and all I could smell was cow poop and horse poop
all mixed together disgusting. I could hear my friend
s crying and saying I don't want to do this anymore I
want to go home. I thought I was smart and went
around the mud. Oh no! I'm stuck in the sticky, icky
mud. I dragged my feet out of the icky mud. It
worked for a bit but oh no my feet fell back into the
mud.  I could feel the sticky, icky mud in between
my toes. When I got to next stage I could see people
getting stuck in the mud. I got stuck as well. I felt
scared because I couldn't move my legs. I made my
way to Josh he grabbed my wrist and dragged me
out. I felt relieved that I finally got to the end. All I
could think of is going to sleep because my muscles
were tired.

My popplet

In He Puna Tarei we have been learning how to use popplet. I created a popplet about Cats I also used a poplet to help me plan my writing.

PENGUINS UNDER ATTACK!!!!!!

In Antarctica on a single floating iceberg lived four penguins. There names are Bluey who is a little blue penguin that is skinny, Emp is a emperor penguin that is fat and cuddly, Frosty big and awesome is a baby emperor penguin and skinny and pocket sized, korora is a blue penguin she is a medium sized penguin.  There was a destructive cat he like to be called Cat of Doom. He always try to kills all the penguin that he sees because he wants them for his slaves. One day the Cat of Doom got so grumpy that he got out his laser gun and shot the iceberg and it fell into teeny, tiny, little pieces. The evil cat brought them all to an unknown place that only the Cat of Doom knew of. The penguins got  so scared that they nearly peed themselves. After 2 hrs  of thinking of a way to get out of the cages they finally had a way. They had just remembered that they had all the keys in the world, they just had to remember the right key to unlock the cages. 10 mins later they got the right key to unlock the cages. Once all the cages were unlocked they jumped out and and snuck out of the unknown place and tried to find their way home. When the Cat of Doom went to check the cages, the doors were unlocked and all the penguins were gone. He went to find the penguins and he did because there was a trail of fish scales. When the Cat of Doom caught up with the penguins he snuck up behind them and grabbed them but it was just a crazy little trick. The penguins had made clones out of ice. The penguins lept out from behind the Cat of Doom and captured him and put him in the cage. He was there for the rest of his life.

My Mosaic art

In He Puna Tarei we have been learning about Roman art. They made sculptures, paintings and mosaics. We created our own mosaic using pieces of coloured paper. This is my  unique roman mosaic art.

What 2d shape am I?

In He Puna Tarei we have been learning about how to describe shapes. We had to make sure that we wrote down at least 5 different sentences. Here is my work - can you guess what shape I am?       

Swiming skills

On Mondays,Wensdays and Thursdays we go to the school pool to learn how to be safe in the water. We have been practising  

floating on our front by doing X,T,I and Y.

We have also been practicing how to 

scull in the water on flutter boards. 

Puanga star

Last week He Puna Tarei made Puanga stars. We had to decorate the star with ngtu kaka, mangopare and koru pattens. We had to trace our stars on a black piece of paper.  Then around the pencil tracing we had to write what we are thankful for in silver shapie. Then we glued the puanga star onto the black paper. Finally we had to go around the star with chalk and if we wanted to we could go around the border with chalk.  

My wildself

Hi my name is Wild Grace. One day I woke up in a cave. I really wanted to go home. I went to cover my ears and the felt fluffly. They felt like polarbear ears. I was freaked out. Ahhhh I screamed. I looked down and I saw a tiger tail. I was scared. I looked behind me and I had monarch butterfly wings, that is weird. I had turned into a Lun-pol-fly-tiger. I thought I was never going to turn back to my normal self. I was scared. The next day when I woke up I was back at home and I was back as my normal self. Thank goodness!!

How a volcano is fromed

How a volcano is formed. 

A volcano is a hill or a mountain with a crater that lava, rock, ash and gas come out. A volcano is formed when tectonic plates push together and make a weak spot. The magma shot's out when the pressure in the  magma chamber gets huge.  The pressure forces the magma to shoot out of the  main vent. Some of the magma comes out of the secondary vent. When the lava cools down it turns into hard rock. The rock builds up over millions of years to make a volcano.

Romero Britto Art

He Puna Tarei imagined, created and innovated self portraits based on the artwork of Romero Britto. We followed the tutorial video step by step to draw our portraits. For the background we created patterns using things we like.

Art Gallery clouds

Yesterday in  He Puna Tarei we went to the art gallery. When we got in there Sietske showed as around where all the cloud pictures are. Then Sietske walked as into the classroom and walked us through the steps for our cloud pictures. We used acrylic paints for our art work.  I was very, very proud of the work I did.

Growth mindset

In He Puna Tarei we had to make a growth mindset poster. A  mindset is a belief or an attitude that we have about something. Some mindsets are negative and some are also positive. We have been learning about positive mindsets where we can get better at anything using time and effort.

In He Puna Tarei we had to make a class logo. I made a triangle logo with 4 little blue penguins because our class is a penguin class. I put korus on it to show my family. My motto is on a learning journey.
